School choruses are open to all fourth and fifth grade students who love to sing. The groups meet weekly after school on compact days from and perform 2-3 times during the school year. Transportation home after rehearsals is not provided.
Emphasis is placed on healthy vocal production and the development of music reading skills through unison and two-part choral literature. Aural skills are strengthened through the use of ear training, solfege and sight-reading via exercises, activities and games.
Advancement to honor choirs is based on commitment, maturity, musicianship, and vocal skills.
